PATHCONNECT 2026 CONGRESS ANNOUNCEMENT
We are pleased to announce that the 57th Federation of South African Societies of Pathology (FSASP) conference will be held on 20 – 22 May 2026 at the Protea Hotel in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. The venue is in the beautiful Stellenbosch Winelands district on the verges of the charming historical Stellenbosch town. The weather at that time of the year should be pleasant.
The conference name is PathConnect and the conference theme is ‘Transforming diagnostics: Technology for improved access'
We chose the name because we view this conference as an opportunity to connect with colleagues from local institutions and from abroad. Locally, we look forward to connecting with colleagues in the private and public sectors and representatives of the various diagnostics suppliers. There will be an exhibition for all the suppliers can display their cutting-edge technology. All attendees are strongly urged to visit as many exhibitor stands as possible.
The Conference theme will focus on how South Africa and the rest of Africa can leverage advances in molecular diagnostics, advanced imaging, mobile telephony, the internet, artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies to improve access to laboratory diagnostics.
Our scientific programme includes poster and oral presentations of original research, subject reviews, review of professional and technical guidelines and teaching workshops for our specialist and scientist students. Please respond to the call for abstract in order to showcase your research.
We have top international and local invited speakers in the disciplines of anatomic, forensic, haematological, microbiological and chemical pathology. There will be something for clinical and laboratory haematologists, medical scientists, medical technologists, nurses and the various categories of students.
The social programme is full of activities for a variety of interests including, naturally, top local wines and food.
